A ) Upgradation and enhancement of IT infrastructure at a leading Management College in Mumbai.
The Management Institute has over 1000 users in their Mumbai campus including staff and students. They had requirements of server processing capacity addition, network security and link-up redundancy, bandwidth management due to addition of two more floors and several new courses in the campus. At the same time management of existing 27 servers and power requirement thereof were proving to be problematic.
We designed and implemented most cost effective solution with server consolidation on to IBM BladeCentre based computing platform. By implementing 14 servers in a 7U rack in the blade form factor and retiring old servers, the objective of processing capacity addition was met at the same time managing to reduce the power requirements and horizontal footprint.
The IT security and bandwidth management requirement was met by implementing Unified Threat Management hardware firewall device. The UTM hardware firewall was installed and configured to provide internet up-link redundancy and bandwidth management. At the same time the device provided protection in the form of Firewall, VPN, Antivirus, Web Filtering and Anti-SPAM. Careful design and implementation of security policies, zoning etc. has enabled the customer to not only improve network security but also to provide redundancy for its various internet requirements like browsing, hosted web applications and email server.

B ) Implementation of multi domain multi location emailing solution at a Shipping Company in Mumbai.
The Shipping Company has multiple domains and multiple locations all across India. They had a requirement of a secure, stable emailing solution which will cater to their unique requirements cost effectively.
We designed and implemented the solution entirely in Linux based systems. By designing a Hub and Spoke architecture we provided email server solution which currently caters to 27 domains and 16 locations across India. The solution leveraged the IPTABLES based linux firewall, Mailing server with Qmail, Courier-IMAP, Webmail, Clam-AV for antivirus and SpamAssassin for spam protection software. We also implemented on site the primary DNS server for all domains so as to enable us to have the required flexibility and control.

c) Network and Data security enhancement at large multi college educational institute in Thane.
The institutes Thane college campus caters to over 15000 students in many faculties like Masters in Management, Science, Arts, Commerce, Law etc. They have a large IT installations with associated IT security problems like viruses, hacking attempts, data loss etc.
We implemented a multi-pronged solution with Hardware based firewall with up-link redundancy between multiple ISP’s, Enterprise class Antivirus solution with centralized deployment and update, centralized data backup with CA ArcServ Backup software and Tandberg Data 8 slot autoloader with barcode.
BY providing a theme of centralized control over network and data we managed to reduce the IT security and data loss incidences on campus practically nill.
We also migrated over 200 standard office type use desktops to Thin Clients. This allowed for centralized data storage and much easier efficient archival data backup. Also Thin Clients allowed implementation of well defined usage policies which provided immense benefits in terms of avoiding unauthorized access, control over software usage and network usage etc.
 
d) Thin Client computing solution on existing serial network for a large Govt. of India undertaking Telecom Company

The company is amongst India’s largest telecom service provider. They had an existing serial cable network on which their existing DEC dumb terminals were working. They wished to deploy modern Linux based Thin Client computing solution without sacrificing the serial cable network.
We designed a specially adapted embedded Linux operating system which enabled the customer to utilize both Serial as well as LAN networks simultaneously thereby offering multiple functionality in the same terminal, at a very low cost. The OS embedded in 32mb FLASH drive was delivered to the customer in the form of a very compact, low power, fanless thin client computing device.
The Linux Thin Clients are deployed successfully in many a remote and city locations and are working well.
